So you’re going out and you want to something extra special? Fake eyelashes! They might seem daunting, I know that the first time I used them I was nervous! I have really short lashes so sometimes I feel like I need a boost. Don’t be afraid of fake lashes, embrace them, and I’ll give you some tips for easy application. Now let’s make those lashes to die for!

Fake ‘em out! There are a lot of fake eyelashes to choose from. Some more stand-out than others. If you are just going out for the night it’s best to choose some that look like actual eye lashes instead of the feathery kinds. Although, it’s all up to the style you want to rock! So once you pick out your fake lashes let’s get started with getting you glammed up:

• You might need to trim the lashes to comfortably fit your lids
• Don’t worry if the adhesive looks messy, because it dries clear (normally!)
• Some people prefer using tweezers to apply the lashes, although if that makes you uncomfortable you can always use your fingers!
• You want them as close as you can get them to you natural lashes without gluing them together (Ow that hurts when removing!!)
• If there are gaps you can fill them in with eyeliner for a smooth look
• Applying a layer of mascara at the end helps to blend your natural lashes in with the fake lashes

Finish your look! You don’t want to have all your makeup on prior to applying your fake lashes, because if you do they might not stick as well! Also, if you really want to go all out you can apply lower fake lashes, which are applied the same way as upper fake lashes. My lower lashes are barely visible so sometimes I like just adding the lower fake lashes to give my eyes a more dramatic look! Fake lashes can be used with almost any look, so don’t be scared to try to mix them in with your style.

It just doesn’t sound like something that is meant to happen. As skeptical as I was, I gave it a try and was amazed at the results. Because of the stickiness of the gloss it lasted much longer than basic powder shadows. I was able to get a lot more creative with it to by blending different shades of the gloss together. As suggested on the Jane Iredale website, I tried to use the eye gloss as an eye liner too, and it worked really well. With their bright shades of eye gloss I was able to make my eyes pop with bright blues and purples. They also just came out with Aqua Silk and Pink Silk for the spring.

• On the website they suggest applying the make up with the camouflage or sculpting brush. These brushes make blending easier and the gloss will dry quickly for all day wear.

• Another tip is to apply the eye gloss all over the lid making sure to blend into the crease for a more flawless look.

• Need a look for a fancy night out? Try applying a darker color like Wine, Mauve, or Brown to the crease and then highlight it with a lighter shade like Champagne on the brow bone.

Luckily for us ladies, there have been a plethora of new adorable styles that showcase shorter lengths of hair. Whether your hair is curly, straight, thick or thin, there’s a style out there that is perfect for you!

My first suggestion is the classic pixie cut. This cut is perfect for anyone wanting something completely new and doesn’t mind having extremely short hair! The pixie has been a classic for decades now, and it seems like it will never go out of style. This style cuts the hair extremely short, but leaves some longer layers on the top. To add a bit more femininity to the look, try cutting some sweeping bangs into the front. This will also help your forehead to appear less long.

If you’re looking for something a little less short, try going for the always popular ‘bob’! This look has also been around for decades, but has recently been making somewhat of a more popular comeback. The most recent version of this look incorporates longer layers in the front, with a shorter, sharper cut in the back. This look is also popular for both straight and curly hair, so it can be just as versatile as you are! Victoria Beckham on the right, for example, is absolutely rocking the bob with curls, and she looks just as fierce as ever!

This final look is a bit more daring, and I personally don’t think I could ever pull it off! However, I’m always so envious of the women that are bold enough to go for it. The ‘shaved side’ looks exactly how it sounds: one side of the woman’s head is shaved, while the other side is left entirely normal. The other side could be left long, cut short, worn curly or kept straight; it’s entirely up to you! However, if you’re going for a shorter look because you want to be cooler in the summer, I don’t necessarily suggest keeping the other side long. If that’s not the goal and you just want to try this for fun, do whatever makes you happy and feel beautiful! The model on the left, for example, is proudly sporting a shaved side with long luscious curls on the other side.

Whatever you decide to do this summer, make sure you resort to a salon that you know and trust to do the cutting for you!
