Hair For That Perfect Spring Fling
It feels like just yesterday I was saying that I wanted to curl up under the covers and hibernate until warmer weather arrived. Fortunately, mother nature seemed to be especially kind to us this year and hibernation is officially over! It’s time to break out the flip flops and the sundresses and show off all of your cute spring looks. A big component of this, however, is showing off new hair looks to go with those outfits. Need some cute hair ideas to try out? Well look no further because I’m here to save the day.
The first look has been around for decades now, but its one that never seems to go out of style, especially when warm weather hits. The bob is classic and chic, and its a perfect way to prepare for sky rocketing temperatures because there won’t be any long strands to weigh you down or cover your shoulders. There are many ways you can wear the bob, so you can customize it to match your own personality! The angled bob is longer in the front than in the back and gives you more of an edgy-chic look. The soft bob doesn’t come past your chin like most bobs, so it hangs looser and looks softer and more laid back. If neither of those looks fit you, try the classic chic bob like Jenny McCartney is sporting to the right, or try adding straight bangs! No matter which bob you try, you’re guaranteed to look glamorous in this look.
The next look has also been around for decades, but it seems to be making a comeback this season in particular. The ponytail made a huge appearance on Spring runways this year, and I don’t know about you, but that makes me so happy! Ponytails allow you to pull back your hair so its out of your way, but still let you look cute in the process.. and who doesn’t want that?!
I know a lot of you are probably thinking that there aren’t many ways to change up the look of a ponytail, but that’s where you’re wrong. If you think outside of the box, you can turn any classic ponytail into a unique look. If you’re not feeling especially adventurous, try the invisible hair tie look like the model in the photo. Leave out a small strand of hair from the underneath while you are pulling back the rest of it, and tie a small elastic hair band around the section that you already pulled back. Then, take the small strand that was left out and wrap it around the hair band, smoothing it down as you go. You’re left with a perfectly simple look!
If you want to be a bit more adventurous, try a more flirty option like the multiple pony worn by the model on the right. Pull back a small amount from either side and place a small elastic around it. Then, pull back larger sections from both sides and combine this hair to the hair from the first pony. Place another elastic around this section of hair. Lastly, pull back the rest of your remaining hair and place a third and final elastic around it. Once each pony is done, make sure to smooth out the strands that are left before adding it to the next pony.
Those are just a few of the many ways you can turn a ponytail into something much more. With a little creativity, the options are endless!
As I already mentioned, the bob is a great permanent solution to your hair dragging you down in this warm weather, but if you’re looking for a more temporary solution, these cute ponytails are the perfect option! If you don’t want to commit to the short length of the bob, I would still suggest getting a fresh trim so these other styles will look their absolute best!
