Hairstyles Inspired By The Grammy’s

The Grammys have always been known as a time for celebrities to get dressed up and show off their looks to the public. The red carpet pre show is almost more popular than the award show itself these days. As the stars strut their stuff, the famous line can be heard over and over again: “Who are you wearing?” However, I’m much more interested in what styles they’re wearing on their heads. Both the hottest and the craziest hair trends are showcased each year at the Grammys, and although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend trying every crazy look, some of the coolest styles first appear during this night.

One of the biggest trends I noticed at the Grammys this year was the extreme obsession with hair dye. Whether they decided to take their hair a shade lighter or dramatically change the entire color, almost every celeb seemed to have altered their hair in one way or another. The subtle look is out, and the dramatic, over the top look is in! With stars like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Adele, and Nicki Minaj, we have many looks to admire.

Let’s start with the subtle crowd. Adele and Kate Beckinsale both sported very natural looking hair for the night. Adele’s hair held soft, classic curls, but she seemed to have lightened it a few shades since her last few appearances. She had a much more dirty blonde look before, and now she’s almost golden blonde. This color does her well though, and she looked absolutely flawless at the event.

Kate Beckinsale also chose a quite natural look by sporting the ombre style at the event. Her ombre style is very gradual, and the color doesn’t differ too much from her roots to her ends. This helps make the style appear much more natural, and it suits her skin tone extremely well. Her hair was then curled lightly and pulled back into a soft up-do. She pulled off the classic beauty look very well for the evening.

Rihanna has always been known to rock every hair color imaginable, so I would actually consider her hair color for this event slightly tame. She chose to bleach her hair entirely, leaving only her roots her natural color. Although it was much different than the Rihanna we’re used to, she still managed to look as fabulous as ever.

Now on to the dramatically dyed diva’s of the event. Kelly Osbourne was seen wearing a very chic shoulder length do. It was slightly curled and looked effortless as she strutted the carpet. However, her hair color seemed to change her look entirely. She dyed her hair a very light violet hue, but because it was originally blonde, it made her hair appear as though it was almost graying. Although I’m sure the bride of Frankenstein/ elderly woman look was not what she intended, she still seemed to pull it off pretty well.

Last but not least, Katy Perry and her vibrant blue locks. Just like Rihanna, Katy Perry has also been known to try out every color of the rainbow when it comes to her hair. For this year’s red carpet, she was rocking cotton candy blue hair and a dress to match. The blue in her hair made her bright blue eyes pop even more, which brought out the other stunning features in her face. It was also pulled back in a classic up-do which somehow made it look flirty and classic even though it was such a bright color. Although I wouldn’t recommend all of you rush out and dye your hair this color as well, it can be a great look for someone who’s daring and willing to try something new.

Daring to be bold and try out one of these looks for yourself? To guarantee you get the best look and don’t damage your hair in the process, find a salon you trust to dye it for you. Dyes from a box can be harsh and hard to do by yourself, so it’s definitely worth it to pay a little extra to take care of your hair! I personally recommend one of the best hair salons in downtown Pittsburgh PA, Verve 360, because of their outstanding service and attention to quality. Best of luck with the dying, diva’s!
