Hat Hair Problems Solved!
The weather is getting warmer and the newest Spring styles are in full bloom! If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you can’t wait to whip out your new adorable floppy hat and sport it proud for all to see. The only problem is figuring out how to wear your hair underneath the hat to prevent it from getting frizzy and keep it looking fabulous. Well, you’re in luck because here are some awesome tips on how to wear your hair to keep it looking its best at all times!
The first tip to try while wearing a hat is to add big loose curls to give your hair a natural wavy look. This can be done with either a barrel curling iron or with traditional curlers left in your hair overnight. Before adding the curls, make sure to apply product to your hair that will protect it from the extreme heat of the curler. After the curls are taken out, apply a light finishing spray so that your hair will last all day. Finally, lightly run your hands through your hair and tousle the curls to make it seem more natural, put the hat on, and you’re done!
The next tip to try is to pull your hair into a loose side braid that will peak out underneath the big hat. Start off with loose wavy hair and add a bit of product to keep it from getting frizzy while its in the braid. Pick which side you would rather have the braid on, and gently pull all of your hair to that side and begin braiding as usual. Make sure to smooth out the strands as you braid towards the bottom to keep the flyaways to a minimum. Once braided to the bottom, secure with a small elastic band and throw your hat on top!
The next option is to pull your hair into a messy bun and tuck it nicely under the hat. This option is the easiest if you don’t feel like putting too much extra time into your look for the day. Start off with naturally wavy hair and push it to one side over one of your shoulders. Pull your hair into a loose ponytail, then twist it around into a bun and pin in place. Try leaving a few small wavy strands down in front to create more of a playful look like Keira Knightley is sporting in the picture to the left. If you’re worried about the bun getting a bit frizzy, add a few spritzes of finishing spray before adding the hat.
