Healthy Hair: A Never Ending Trend
Welcome to our style watch segment, featured every Thursday! This week we will be talking about a trend that will never go away — healthy hair. No one wants dry, damaged hair and split ends, but these issues will come and go, especially during the summer when a lot of time is spent at the pool. The harsh chemicals that are in swimming pools, too much sun, or even just wearing your hair in a ponytail too often can do some damage to your hair, and we are here to give you some tips on how to keep your hair protected and healthy for the summer, and for seasons to come!
Keep your hair clean.
Washing only your scalp can help keep your hair from drying out. The soap suds from your scalp will run down through the rest of your hair and clean it just as good as if you were to apply soap throughout all of your hair.
Don’t wash your hair before swimming.
If you wash your hair before swimming, all of your natural oils that protect your hair will be washed away, leaving it more vulnerable to damage from chemicals in the pool.
It’s a great idea to use a detoxifying shampoo after swimming. This will help to remove chlorine and other harmful chemicals from your hair.
Summer heat and chemicals in swimming pools will definitely dry out your hair. It’s important to keep your hair moisturized in the summer to prevent breaking and damage.
