How To Look Great During Your Spring Break

It’s finally that time of year again: spring break! A time to get out of your hometown and give yourself a nice relaxing vacation somewhere far away from the stresses of everyday life. However, the vast temperature differences that can occur between home and paradise can add stress to your locks and cause them to behave differently than usual. This is especially true if you’re heading somewhere beachy and warm! So for those of you who are lucky enough to be trading in this winter weather for some sunshine, here are a few extra tips to keep your hair looking its best!

One of the best approaches to letting your hair adapt to warmer weather is to stop resisting and just let it behave how it wants. If the humidity has taken over and you couldn’t force a flat iron through it if your life depended on it, then don’t! Add a small bit of product and play up the naturally wavy look! This look is especially appropriate if you’ll be on a beach because nothing looks more attractive than a natural beach blown style.

If the beach blown look doesn’t exactly turn out the way you’d hoped, dress it up with some extra accessories. If you’re looking for something simple on those beach days, one of the best accessories to take with you is a thick elastic headband. It holds your hair out of your face entirely and is great to throw on after you’ve taken a dip into the ocean. If you want a less practical, but more appealing option, try using a retro silk scarf as a headband. These won’t hold your hair back as well as the elastic bands, but they give your hair much more of a boho look. This bright scarf worn by Kate Hudson, for example, adds the perfect touch to her naturally curly hair and makes her look absolutely stunning without even trying.

If you decide that your hair is too out of control to be tamed by just a headband, then try adding a more covering accessory like a hat. Hats were all the rage this past season, and they are a great option for bad hair days or times when you just want to keep your hair from blowing in the wind. One of the most popular types of hats right now is the floppy hat because it adds a bit of girly glam to any simple look and its super comfy to wear! If floppy hats aren’t your style, try out a fedora instead. Fedoras grew much higher in popularity this year and they look great with curls or a braid underneath. They add a perfect touch to that beach blown look without getting too crazy.
