Eye catching features seem to be a trend this year. If it’s not bringing the attention solely to your eyes or cheeks, it’s bringing it to your lips! Shopping for lipstick is always so much fun! 1. Prepare. Get out that good old makeup bag and let’s get started! What? You don’t have any lipstick in there? I can’t blame you for that, I used to stray away from lipstick as well. I was a gloss fan. It was shiny and it came in subtle colors that didn’t really show up. Lipstick was from my early childhood years when I drew all over my face with it until I looked like a clown. But no more are those days! It’s time to embrace the colorful hues and find a new favorite. Now, you could always go to a drugstore and splurge on every color that catches your eye, but you may find that the colors don’t quite look as beautiful on your lips. 2. Experiment. Don’t feel like you NEED a bright red. That’s not the only bold color out there on the lipstick spectrum. When you are out looking for your perfect shade don’t be stuck on the idea that there is only one color out there for you, there are plenty that will compliment your skin tone and it’s undertones. For me, I find that shades of pink look the best, while oranges make me look too washed out. Experimenting with different colors lets you figure out which colors you like, and which colors like you! You might even find a lipstick that you never would have thought about before. Use the testers for all they are worth! 3. Get social with it. Get out there! Dolling up to sit on your bed and watch chick flicks isn’t as exciting as heading down to the corner cafe with your friends and letting the world see you!
