The Best Way to Relax

Attention all those with back pain or tension! If stress or physical work causes muscle tension or pain in your body or if you simply just need a relaxing break from your hectic life, than this post is for you.

Pittsburgh Salon, Verve 360 Salon offers a broad variety of massage therapy treatments. To be honest, I had no idea there were so many different kinds of massages available. The massage therapy experts at Verve 360 know all about focusing on a certain part of the body to provide their guests with satisfaction, relaxation and healthier bodies.

After looking over the list of types of massages they offer, I knew right away what I needed: a classic Swedish massage. The Swedish massage is the original massage therapy that deals with the deep muscle tissue of the back, shoulders and neck.

For only 20 years old, I have a lot of back pain and muscle tension. I am a food server and am required to lift heavy trays, plates, trash bags, glass racks, and you name it. Because of the physical strain at work, I always have a knot in my back or shoulders.  On top of that I have a lot of mental stress that adds to the muscle tension. I usually take on 15-18 credits of school plus other volunteer responsibilities.

I went to a chiropractor recently that couldn’t even crack my back because my muscles were so tight. He joked with me saying, “What do you do, work three jobs?”  Needless to say, I was very excited to go to Verve 360 to get my back worked on.

From beginning to end, my massage therapist, Elizabeth, made the whole experience comforting and soothing. She didn’t rush me, but gave me time to get settled in and changed. The oils and lotions she used were just the right temperature and amount. Soft music played in the background as she worked magic on my back.  I could literally feel my muscles fitting back together properly.

To be honest, I don’t know how I didn’t fall asleep, because this was the most relaxed I’d been in a while. I definitely walked out of their in a much better state than I ran in.

The experience made me realize how important it is to get your back aligned properly on a regular basis. Massage therapy benefits the body in so many ways:

  • Flushes out toxins
  • Enhances blood circulation by increasing oxygen flow
  • Keeps ligaments flexible
  • Improves posture and bone structure

I won’t be waiting so long this time before I go back for a massage therapy visit!
