Happy Fat Tuesday everyone! This is the day in our society that people have an excuse to do fun things, be merry, and have a great time. Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday is all about being frivolous and throwing your caution to the wind before the religious celebration of Lent begins. So don’t just enjoy this vivacious holiday with a night out, really embrace it. My favorite way to embrace holidays of this kind is really own it, and doing something wild with your nails is a great way to do this!
Bright colors is always a great way to enjoy a holiday like Fat Tuesday. What inspired me with my nail polish selection was the different colors of typical Mardi Gras beads you see around this time of the year. The bright greens, purples, golds, silvers and blues are all very reflective of the vivacious nature of this holiday and definitely perfect to brighten up your spirit during these cold months.
If you’re a fan of purple hues I suggest Zoya’s nailpolish in the shade “Harmony” it really does a great job of matching up with the typical Mardi Gras beads and the best way to describe it is a Flashy medium violet-purple with frosty blue, red and silver colored shimmer.
If you prefer silvers try the shade “Trixie” which was featured in Life and Style Magazine. It can be described as a stunning light silver with a sparkling metallic foilfinish, definitely a chic and edgy shade to celebrate the holiday! If you are interested in a gold try “Goldie“, its a bright reflective yellow-toned gold with a fine golden shimmer- a great match of Mardi Gras gold!
If you really want to be daring and give blues and greens a try, I say go for it! For greens, “Ivanka” would definitely be the best option that can be described as mermaid green sparkling metallic that definitely does not look cheap. If you want to go blue, I suggest “Charla“, a tropical blue sparkling metallic.
And if you can’t decide, pick two and do an accent nail on your ring finger. If you can’t pick two get really daring and try them all out. Whatever you feel like doing take some risks and have fun and one of the best downtown Pittsburgh Salons can help you do it!!
