Stop! Put the Candy Down!
Halloween is one of my all time favorite holidays! Who doesn’t love a chance to dress up in some ridiculous, elaborate costume and just have fun? And all those little kids look so darn cute in all their little costumes. I just can’t help but smile when I see them running around. Aside from the costumes, everyone loves Halloween because it gives us an excuse to go out, buy a giant bag of candy, and hope we have some leftover to snack on. Let’s be honest a holiday all about candy is amazing!
Even a person with the best intentions can cave when it comes to the chocolate-y, sugar-y goodness on Halloween. Whether it’s snacking on a piece or two while you hand out candy to trick-or-treaters or stealing a piece from your children, siblings, or the kids you babysit for, you need to think twice about if that small moment of bliss is worth ruining your diet. You don’t want to throw away all the hard work you have been putting in at downtown pittsburgh salons, Verve 360′s yoga and pilates classes!
Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy any of the Halloween goodies because everyone deserves to indulge every once in a while, just make sure the goodie you pick is worth it! It has been recommended that you pick one treat and take the time to enjoy it. Candy apples are probably the biggest treat you can pick, so it will take you longer to eat, and give you more time to enjoy it! Plus it
only has an average of about 215 calories (if it’s a small apple).
I personally recommend stepping away from those fun size candy bars because let’s be honest it’s hard to stick to just one! One little candy bar will only take about 15 minutes of walking to burn off, which is very manageable. Once that one little candy bar turns into a whole bag of fun size candy bars it can take you about 5 hours to burn off all those calories. Trust me it’s not worth it! So this Halloween dress up, have fun, and treat yourself to something delicious, just be careful of what you pick up and how many you pick up!
