The Art of Aerial Yoga

Happy Wednesday! Pittsburgh nail salon, Verve 360 offers a wide variety of Pilates and yoga classes in addition to their beauty treatments. The first thing that caught my attention is the Aerial Yoga classes they provide. If you’re anything like me, you are asking right about now, what the heck is Aerial Yoga?!

When I heard “Aerial Yoga,” I immediately envisioned a workout class floating in the air as they did their yoga routine. Weird stuff. I had to look more into what this was… But the more I researched, the more I saw that Aerial Yoga is becoming more and more popular across the country. Classes have been popping up in gym and fitness centers, especially within the last ten years.

Aerial YogaSo what the deal? Why Aerial Yoga? Aerial Yoga is beneficial because:

- It increases flexibility
- It increases upper body and core strength
- It releases tension and relaxes muscles
- Allows deeper stretches than floor exercises allow
- It gives the feeling of weightlessness which helps connect the mind, body & soul

Looking at the picture and you may imagine  yourself falling on your head, not to worry. The instructors never make a class too big that they can’t personally help you at all times. They will work with you one-on-one until you are confident in your aerial skills!

The Aerial Yoga Starting Packages run for 4 weeks and are 2 sessions per week.  To sign up or receive more information contact MaddyLandi@kNOTDance.com. Please include your name and your Yoga/Athletic experience.

This will be my treat to myself on my 46th birthday! Every year I try to complete a challenge on or very near to my birthday as I am aging. It builds confidence ands lets me know I really am not old! I am as young as I wish to be.
