Up in the Air…Yoga?

Yoga is no longer bound to floor mats. Aerial yoga involves a fabric trapeze from the ceiling that is then used to help keep yourself off the ground. Being off the ground allows for further movement and less strain or pressure on the body. Joint pains are a common complaint of typical yoga students. With aerial yoga these common injuries from the constant joint pressure can be avoided.

You can help build your upper body strength as well by participating in an aerial yoga class. With a few nice weeks of weather left you can show off your newly toned arms in that cute tank top you are not willing to put away for fall just yet.

Core strength is also built up by aerial yoga. Everyone is always looking for ways to help tone up their core so why not try something new. Singer Pink has even used aerial yoga to stay on shape while on tour. It clearly worked for her!

For those of you worried about heights have no fear. This is not Cirque du Soleil and you will not be suspended far above the ground, just a few inches. Some poses even still require your feet on the ground but give the trapeze gives you a helpful lift!

If you have decided to brave the trapeze and try something new look into taking classes at Verve 360, the best aerial yoga salon downtown pittsburgh has. And if you are not quite ready to try aerial yoga, but still want to enjoy the benefits of traditional yoga or pilates classes, Verve 360 can still help you out!
